On the first day of Heart & Mind opening, we can expect a mix of excitement and nervousness among both children and parents. Our focus was on introducing the classroom environment, familiarizing the children with their teacher and routines, and creating a welcoming atmosphere through playful activities to help everyone ease into the new space and make friends.

Fire Safety Day
We can’t believe how fast September and part of October have flown by. It has been wonderful getting to know the  children. We look forward to the months to follow and learn more about everyone on our journey together! We have a very exciting and full month ahead of us filled with fun events and activities.
Now that it is Fall the weather will be getting colder. We play outside if it’s 40 degrees or above so please dress your children accordingly. We will explore the change in color of the leaves, discuss fire safety, learn about community helpers, apples, acorns, squirrels and pumpkins. How large is your pumpkin? What is inside of a pumpkin? How do they grow? We will weigh the pumpkins. There are so many lessons available to learn using a pumpkin.
We are trying to encourage independence and self-help skills. Children can learn so much by doing things themselves. When children practice self-help skills, they strengthen their fine and gross motor skills, gain confidence in their ability to try new things and build self esteem and gain pride in their independence. Thank you for helping us accomplish our goals. The days are flying, and our special activities are in full swing. Our wonderful music teacher, Mr. Anthony will be offering piano lessons soon, Information to follow.
